Outdoor Box Section Leg Build Guide
Installing Feet
Included: 4 x Outdoor Feet, 4 x Large Washers, 4 x Slimlock nuts, 1 x Slim Spanner
Screw the slim locking nut fully onto the foot thread until it meets the plastic foot.
Add a large washer onto the foot thread. Screw the foot fully into the bottom of the box section leg.
Fit all four feet, then turn the table upright. Adjust feet as necessary until stable—usually, adjusting a single foot is sufficient.
Use the provided spanner to tighten the locking nuts on each foot. This secures the foot and prevents rattling or loosening over time.
Fitting a Top
Included: 16 x 5mm Wood Screws, 16 x 5mm Washers Tools needed: Cross-head screwdriver, Drill with 2-3mm drill bit (optional)
Use only the stainless steel screws and washers supplied in this pack for outdoor installations. Do not use the plain steel screws provided with the legs, as these are not suitable for long-term outdoor use.
For harder woods, it may help to drill pilot holes (though this step is optional):
Position the legs and mark the hole positions with a pen or pencil.
Drill pilot holes approximately 1–2 cm deep using a 2–3 mm drill bit.
Align the legs in their final positions.
Fit a washer onto each screw, then securely fasten the legs to the tabletop. Ensure all screws are tightened fully.
Outdoor Care Guide
Your metal table legs are crafted from strong mild steel and coated with a durable powder finish designed to protect against rust. To ensure your furniture remains beautiful and structurally sound, please follow these care guidelines:
Stainless Steel Fixings: We recommend stainless steel screws and fixings for outdoor setups. Regular steel or zinc-plated screws rust quickly in damp conditions, potentially weakening and snapping over time.
Avoiding Damage: Position your legs thoughtfully to minimise damage to the powder coating:
Use the provided outdoor feet to lift the metal legs off the ground. This prevents scratches from uneven surfaces and keeps the legs out of standing water.
Avoid using the legs on deep gravel or soft surfaces where they could sink, causing the coating to become scratched.
Repairing Scratches: Promptly repair any scratches or chips in the coating to prevent rust. Hammerite paint or a similar metal paint is ideal for larger areas requiring touch-ups.
Seasonal Protection: For long-term durability, we recommend covering your table or bringing it indoors during winter months. Repeated freezing and thawing can cause minor scratches to expand, increasing the risk of rust.
Special Environment Considerations: Mild steel products, even with protective coatings might struggle in coastal or salt-air environments. Salt significantly accelerates rust formation. For coastal areas, stainless steel or aluminium legs offer superior durability.
